Rebecca Jane (Becky) French Brewer passed away at her home, July 10, 2017. Preceded in death by husband, Larry Michael Brewer; parents, Henry and Faye French. Becky will be remembered for her keen wit, her storytelling, writing skills, and her love of animals. She always maintained a supply of food for the critters in her yard. Becky was a history buff and had a particular interest in Knoxville history. She co-authored a book with Doug McDaniel detailing the history of the Park City area where she was born and raised. To quote Becky "home is where the heart is and my heart will always be in Park City". To quote Doug "with Becky, all you had to do was sit back on the porch, sip her gloriously sweet tea, and listen as she wove her colorful tapestry of Knoxville characters and stories". In 2016, Becky co-wrote Lineage and Legacy: GUNFIGHT ON GAY STREET, a one act play performed by the Tennessee Stage Company with original music by Jason Hanna to benefit the Mabry Hazen Museum.
Survivors: sisters, Sue Sweat and Ann Pepper; nephews, Scott Sweat and Greg Pepper; niece, Suzanne Sweat Wortham; her late husbands sons, Jimmy and Randy Brewer; several great nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
