Obituary

BEELER, POLLY (PAULINE) LESTER – age 84, left her earthly abode on February 1, 2012 for her eternal home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Neal Beeler; parents, Ollie Lester Warwick and Dewey Lester; siblings, Garland, Kenneth, Opal and Ray Lester.

Polly was a member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City and the Bethany Sunday School Class. She retired after 31 years of service with Sears, and almost immediately began volunteering at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee serving there for over 12 years. She served one term as Auxiliary President and also served in many other positions. In 1982, Polly was instrumental in founding the Sunsphere Chapter of the American Business Women's Association. She received the "Woman of the Year" award on two occasions and served in every office of the chapter.

Survivors: sister, Martha Werner; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Bob Smith; granddaughter and husband, Amy and Mike Taylor, grandson and wife, Patrick and Jayme Smith; great-grandson, Bryce Allen Hodge; great-granddaughter, Anna Kay Smith; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Fountain City Ministries, PO Box 5311 Knoxville, TN 37928.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Ron Mouser officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the funeral service at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
