Mary Ellen Summers - age 77, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Parkwest Medical Center.
She was of the Baptist faith, a jewelry designer, and an avid reader.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Leona Clay; and granddaughter, Rachel Summers.
Survivors: husband of 50 years, Dan Summers; son, Chuck (Robin) Summers; daughter, Elizabeth (Kelly Tuggle) Summers; step-son, Randy (Patty) Summers; grandchildren, Courtney Summers, Clayton Tuggle, Isabella Summers, Minie Tuggle, Andrea Summers, Justin Summers, Adam Tuggle, and Zachary Tuggle; sisters, Linda (Herman) Hatton, and Norma (Ed) Stooksbury; nieces and nephews, Kim Haas, Melinda Nelson, Lisa Thomas, Susan Hatton, Greg Stooksbury, Karyn Myers; and beloved great-grandchildren, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
The family and friends will meet 12:45 p.m. Monday at Woodhaven Memory Gardens for a graveside service and interment at 1:00 p.m.
