Allen, James Bowling (J.B.) age 84. The family mourns the loss of J.B. as he went to his heavenly home on December 30, 2018. He had a peaceful passing on his farm in Strawberry Plains, TN, with his family by his side.
He was a member of Lyons Creek Baptist Church, a graduate of East High School and attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He had a passion and love for horses. He spent many years as a blacksmith and farrier thru the south east. He enjoyed training and showing horses. He had a 30-year career with the U.S. Postal service as a rural mail carrier. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 - 1962.
Preceded in death by parents; Audrey and Troy Allen; infant sister, Elizabeth, brothers; Howard, Bob and Jerry. He is survived by wife of 60 years, Anna M. Allen; daughter, Debby Foland (Tim); son, Danny Allen (Cindy). Grandchildren; Ashley Kennerly (John), Tyler Foland and Natalie Foland; Jordan Allen (Hope), Landon Allen (Tori) and Marena Allen (Fiancé Jonathan Mills); Great grandchildren, Max Watson and Annie Beth Allen; Brother, Glenn Allen (Jane) and sister, Charlotte Tampas. Several nieces and nephews and a countless number of lifelong friends
The family will receive friends Friday, January 4, 2019 at Lyons Creek Baptist Church from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Williams and Dr. Rocky Ramsey officiating. The family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a graveside service and interment at 11:00 a.m..
Pallbearers: Tyler Foland, Jordan Allen, Landon Allen, Kevin Wilson, Jonathan Mills and Buster Smith.
