ABBOTT, HERMAN ADREN - age 83, of Knoxville, passed away 12:35 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Abbott was of the Christian faith, retired from the Knoxville Fire Department, and a veteran of the armed forces serving in the US Army and the US Air Force. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Marie Abbott; and nephews, Jack Abbott and John Richards.
Survivors: daughter, Patti Gross; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Kathy Reagan all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Khristie McCarter of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Adam Gross of Bridgeport, Connecticut; great-grandchildren, Logan and Hunter McCarter of Greenback, Tennessee; sisters, Louise Tipton and Patsie Richards; sister-in-law, Helen Abbott; nephews, Mike Tipton, and Mark Abbott all of Knoxville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
The family and friends will meet 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Cemetery for a graveside service and interment at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Paul Trumpore officiating. Honors will be presented by the City of Knoxville Fire Department Honor Guard.
