Edward Clayton Davis, 80 of Corryton, Tennessee passed away Tuesday night, June 26th, 2018. He was born February 12th, 1938. Ed was a faithful follower of his Lord Jesus Christ and a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton Henry and Reba Kitts Davis, along with his brother Ralph Davis.
He will be missed by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Wyrick Davis and his sons, Roger and wife Amy Davis, Kevin and wife Robin Davis, along with his grandchildren, Clayton, Hannah (Drew) Clements, Branson, Brock, Rebecca, and Brennan. He will also be missed by his siblings, Erma (Jay) Wyrick, and Larry (Jennifer) Davis and several nieces and nephews.
Ed retired from Citizens Bank in Grainger County and also retired from Stevens Mortuary. He was an active member and deacon at Fairview Baptist Church for over thirty years. Ed never met a stranger. He was full of love, kindness and compassion for all he encountered.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, June 29th, 2018 at Fairview Baptist Church from 4:00-7:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Jeff LaBorg and Reverend Wayne Davis officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. Saturday June 30th for a 10:30 a.m. graveside service at Fairview Baptist Church cemetery. The pallbearers will be his grandsons, Clayton, Branson, Brock, Brennan, and Drew Clements, and his nephew Doug Hill.
