Carroll, Betty Broome—age 85 of Knoxville, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at NHC Heathcare of Knoxville. She was a graduate of Knoxville High School and was a dental receptionist at Alamont Dental Group in Bristol. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband of 56 years, Hugh Lawson Carroll; mother, Blanche Broome Welch; and father, Roy Lee Broome.
Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Judy and George Stanton of Decatur, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Linda Carroll of Winston-Salem, NC; son, Jim Carroll of Knoxville; grandchildren, Geoff and Suzi Stanton of Decatur, GA; brothers, Robert L. Broome (Barbara) and Wm. J. Welch (Linda); several nieces and nephews, all of Knoxville.

Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service and interment.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Stevens Chapel with Rev. Daniel Moore officiating,
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
