Wright, William H. (Bill)—age 86 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at North Knoxville Medical Center.
He was Deacon Emeritus at Smithwood Baptist Church and a member of Bright Hope Masonic Lodge #557. He retired from Rohm and Haas after 38 years. He was a WWII Marine Veteran.
Memorials may be made in his memory to Smithwood Baptist Church, 4914 Jacksboro, Knoxville 37918.
Preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years and mother of his children, Rachel Miller Wright, and his second wife, Evelyn Haney Wright; brother, Charles Wright.
Survived by son, Jackie Wright and wife Linda of Acworth, GA; daughter, Marcia Neil and husband Allen of Crossville; grandchildren, Rob Wright, Jeff Wright, Adam Neil, Leah Ooten; great grandchildren, Elliot, Ethan, Emie, Hunter, Katie, Nathan, Carson, and Callie; sister, Dorothy Claiborne of Knoxville.
Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m. Friday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. Family members will be pallbearers.
A funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m. Thursday in Stevens Chapel with Dr. David Crutchley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway.
