Thomas “Tom” Lee Neely age 76, of Powell, passed away at his home, Sunday, September 30, 2018. He was born in Knoxville on February 4, 1942 to Dessie Neely. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962- 1968. He also retired from the Railroad with 32 years of service where he was a Railroad Conductor. Tom was an avid treasure hunter and antique car enthusiast. In addition to his mother, he is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Charlotte Wade Neely.
He is survived by his children; daughters, Tracy (Mike) Hickam, and Jennifer Jackson; son, Jason (Jana) Neely; grandchildren, Tyler (Alicia) Hickam, Morgan Hickam, Kimber (Ryan) Tankersly, Shane Neely, Tanner Hasting, Devin Cawood, Payton Jackson, Corbin Jackson, and Jordan Neely; 10 great-grandchildren; best friend, Doug McMillan.
Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Mortuary. Family and friends will meet 11:15 a.m. Thursday at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy for an 11:30 a.m. interment service with Pastor David Trent officiating. Military honors will be presented by East Tennessee Veteran Honor Guard. Serving the family, Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
