WOOLARD, RUTH-DELL – age 88, of Knoxville, passed away 1:50 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Tennova North Knoxville Medical Center.

Born June 4, 1924 in Washington, DC to the late Earl Sims Kendrick and Ruth Fitton Kendrick, Ruth-Dell, was a resident of Silver Spring, MD for many years before relocating to Knoxville. She and husband Jack were longtime active members of First Baptist Church of Wheaton, MD. She worked at the Federal Bureau of Investigation and, later, with the U.S. Naval Surface Weapons Center. She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church and preceded in death by her husband, Jack M. Woolard; and brother, Lawrence E. Kendrick.

Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Pug Woolard of Powell; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Earl "Bunny" Jarnigan of Newport; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Debbie Woolard of Marietta, Georgia; daughter, Zoe Woolard of Middletown, Maryland; son-in-law, Kenneth Gray of Myersville, Maryland; grandchildren, Geoff and (Amy) Woolard, Bryan Woolard, Courtney Woolard, Derek and (Kelley) Jarnigan, Chris and (Tracy) Jarnigan, Meredith Woolard, Sarah and (Roland) Laniel, Evan Woolard, Lilly Gray and Zane Gray; great-grandchildren, Jackson Jarnigan, Ava Jarnigan, and Colby Jarnigan; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Hae Soo Kendrick of Gaithersburg, Maryland; sister-in-law, Marianne Kendrick of Sherwood Forest, Maryland; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Barbara Murray of Salisbury, Maryland.

Special thanks to the management and staff of Aubrey's Restaurant in Powell for many years of friendship and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Wallace Memorial Baptist Church,
701 Merchants Road, Knoxville, TN 37921, or, the Earl H. (Bunny) and Jennifer Woolard Jarnigan Scholarship at Carson Newman College, PO Box 71993 Jefferson City, TN 37760.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Kent Williams officiating.

The family and friends will meet 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Lyons View Pike for a graveside service and interment at 9:30 a.m. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
