Raddu, Robert (Bob) Age 80 of Powell, Tennessee, passed away on August 21, 2016 at 9:10 am following a long illness of emphysema.
Bob was born on February 10, 1936 in Neenah, Wisconsin. He was the son of deceased parents, Frank W. and Emma Raddu. He was preceded also in death by stepmother Margaret Dorow, stepbrother Bill Dresser and wife Carol, and sister Carolyn Alice Felde of Grafton, Wisconsin.
Bob is survived by Imogene, his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, daughter Nicolé Raddu Ferry, Youth, Family and Education Pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Los Alamos, New Mexico, her husband Michael Ray, grandchildren Noah Robert and Morgan Rachel, son Neil Franklin Raddu, general contractor for CE Contracting and lumber associate at Lowe's, grandchildren Neil Robert and Dana Ann, sister Patricia Ann Wiatrowski and husband Douglas of Menasha, Wisconsin, and "adopted" Lady Vol Booster Club member Robin Maine Bugg of Charlotte, North Carolina.
He would also like to recognize special long-time friends, Paul and Barb Reilly of Madison, Wisconsin, Rachel Akstulewicz of Albany, Georgia, and loving family, including brother-in-law Homer Franklin and wife Ruth, as well as many loving and supportive nieces and nephews.
After graduation from High School in Neenah, Wisconsin, Bob joined the U. S. Air Force in 1954. After his honorable discharge, he joined the U. S. Postal Service in 1960, retiring as a Postmaster in 1991, after serving for 32 years.
Bob was a supporter of University of Tennessee Athletics, especially his love for the Lady Vols. He was a charter member of the Lady Vol "Boost-Her" club, and was active for many years.
He was a charter member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church of Knoxville, Tennessee, and was active in church ministries.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 4110 Central Avenue Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee. Disposition of ashes will be a private family event.
