Williams, Ralph Leroy age 93, was born April 22, 1918 in Knoxville, TN to Walter A. and Lucille Murray Williams. Ralph departed this life on December 24, 2011 at Lakebridge Rehabilitation Center in Johnson City, TN. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Williams spent a number of years in the automotive industry in Knoxville, most of these years with Snyder Motors Volkswagen Dealership as Service Manager. Following the death of his wife, Ralph resided in the Tri-Cities area near his son Gary, seven years of which he resided at Remington House Assisted Living, Kingsport, TN. During retirement Ralph and Helen traveled throughout the lower forty-eight U.S. states, Alaska and Canada in a Volkswagen bus he had converted into a camper. Ralph and Helen were true outdoor individuals and enjoyed camping, boating and all types of lake activities. Ralph and Helen were life-long members of the "Old Burlington Gang" and enjoyed cookouts and reunions through the years. Ralph was a graduate of old Knoxville High School.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Williams (1956); wife of 64 years, Helen Boruff Williams (2004).
Survivors: son, Gary L. Williams and wife Carole Bray Williams, of Piney Flats, TN; granddaughter, Nicole R. Lawrence and husband Greg; great grandson, Nicholas E, Ellis, all of Virginia Beach, VA; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment with Rev. Robert H. Bean officiating. Serving the family of Mr. Williams, Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
