Patricia (Pat) Stooksbury age 70 of Powell, TN passed away Sunday April 29, 2018 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Pat was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church and Callahan Road Baptist Church. Pat accepted the call to the mission field at 16 years old and after graduation from Carson Newman College she spent two years as a Journeyman in Ecuador, and then graduated from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Pat was a career missionary with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board in Costa Rica and Bolivia for over 36 years, where she taught people how to share their faith and strengthen their daily relationship with God. Pat loved the people of Costa Rica and Bolivia and worked tirelessly to teach them about Jesus. She truly lived the Great Commission to Go and Tell. “Well done good and faithful servant.”

Preceded in death by parents Ethel and Grady Stooksbury and several aunts and uncles.

Survived by brother Wayne and Greta Stooksbury; nephew: Mark and Melody Stooksbury with children Katelyn and Brayden: nephew: Scott and Shelly Stooksbury with children Jonah, Clay and Dylan. Bolivia family: Ruth and Joel Segovia, Rosa Segovia, Ernesto Tolaba and children Hosea Carlos and Patricia; many close friends in Equator, Costa Rica and Bolivia.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church on Merchants Road. A service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. James McCluskey officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens, Claxton, Tn. At 1:45 p.m. on Friday for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service and internment.

Serving the family is Stevens Mortuary Oglewood Ave. at North Broadway.
