Flatt, Nancy Lou--age 78 of Knoxville, departed this life to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, September 30, 2016. She was a member of Glen Oakes Baptist Church and also attended Cumberland Baptist Church. Nancy's family and Loving Pets were her life. Her friends were many whom she loved and was loved in return.
She was a 1955 East High School graduate, and a past employee of the Knoxville News Sentinel. She was very active for numerous years in the Knoxville Square Dance Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and Morris Dupee; husband, Joe Flatt, Jr.; and many other relatives and close friends.
She is survived by her cousins, David Chandler, JoAnn (Jody) Chandler Powell, and Eddie Chandler; sisters-in-law, Shirley Flatt, Brenda Sheckles, Darlene Campbell (Bill); several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Stevens Chapel with Rev. Roger Miller and Rev. Kent Williams officiating. Following the Chapel Service, family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service and interment.

Friends may call at their convenience on Wednesday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
