Barnard, Mary Nell age 84, of Knoxville, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" (2Tim 4:7), went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. She was a member of Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle for over 50 years where she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and loved singing in her praise trio. She was always an encouragement to her family and friends, sharing her faith with every opportunity.
Preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Nellie Barnard; brother, Lloyd Medlock; sisters, Beulah Langley and Freda Fleming; nephews, Edwin, Bill, and Beau Fleming, Ernie Langley; best friend, Mildred Kite.
Survivors: 41 nieces and nephews including Dana, Robby, and Russ Fleming, Scott and wife Sybille Fleming, Tammy and husband James Holleman, Kim and husband Bucky Meek, Kathy and husband Ron Hatcher, and Cris Angela.
Family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Stevens Mortuary with a 7:00 p.m. funeral service to follow with Pastor Tony Greene officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m. Monday at Greenwood Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. Serving the family, Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
