Obituary

MARJORIE OWEN HOOSIER-LYKE - age 91, of Knoxville, passed away 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Tennova Residential Hospice.

Marjorie was a graduate of Knoxville High School and Fort Sanders School of Nursing.
She was a member of Washington Pike United Methodist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She retired as a Registered Nurse from St. Mary's Medical Center after 35 years of service and was preceded in death by husband, Floyd H Hoosier; her parents, John and Ora Owen; brother, William Richard Owen; sister, Lois Marie Dunn; and second husband, James Elmer Lyke.

Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Donna Hoosier of Knoxville; step-daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Phil Merhar of Seymour; sister, Carol Neal also of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emerald Avenue Youth Foundation, or Washington Pike United Methodist Church.

Friends may call at their convenience at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.

The family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Friday at Highland Memorial Park for a graveside service and interment at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Jim Bailes officiating.
