Vaught, Margie L. age 87, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at West Hills Health & Rehab. She was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church. Margie was a graduate of the first nursing class of East Tennessee Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in March of 1951, where she continued to work until 1979. She also worked at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. and the military hospital on Andrews Air Force Base. Margie retired on June 4, 1994.
Preceded in death by husband, Bill Vaught; parents, Walter and Ethel Martin; brother, James W. (Jimmy) Martin; sister, Dorothy Mae Martin Smith.
Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Marty and Garnetta Vaught of Rockwood, Bill and Lisa Vaught of Knoxville; granddaughter, Eva Marie Vaught Menacof of Denver, CO; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Wilma Martin of Louisville, TN.
Family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Stevens Mortuary followed by a chapel service at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends will meet 11:45 a.m. Friday at Knoxville National Cemetery for a 12:00 p.m. graveside service and interment.
