Walker, Louis Tipton – age 101 of Knoxville, went to be with his Lord and Savior August 14, 2011. He was born in a log cabin in Greenbrier, Sevier County TN June 21, 1910 to parents James Thomas Walker and Ida Stinnet Walker. Louis taught Sunday School and was a deacon at Fort Sanders Baptist Church for many years.
Preceded in death by parents; three sisters; five brothers; wife, Aileen Davis Walker whom he married June 8, 1929… a marriage that lasted 67 years until her death in 1996.
He is survived by two sons, James E. Walker, Charles E. Walker and wife Lilly all of Knoxville; two grandsons, Chuck Walker of Knoxville, James M. Walker and wife Judi of Lutz, Florida; five great-grandchildren: Douglas Walker of Lutz, Florida, Melissa Choi and husband Won Chun of New York City, Monica Dockery of Yuma, Arizona, Carmen Woods of Knoxville, and Denton Hickman of Corryton; one brother, Harold of Jefferson County Tennessee; special niece, Wilma Martin and husband Ralph of Louisville, TN, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Friends and relatives may call at their convenience on Wednesday, August 17 at Stevens Mortuary.
Family and friends will meet 2:45 p.m. Thursday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a graveside service and interment at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Denton Hickman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Louis requested that memorials be made to Children's Hospital, 2018 Clinch Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37916.
