VITTETOE, JUNE ACUFF--age 92, of Knoxville, and most recently Cornerstone Village of Johnson City, passed away peacefully and went to her heavenly home on April 10, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving husband of 71 years, children, and grandchildren. June was born in Washburn, TN and met her husband, Bobby, in 1939. They were high school sweethearts and were married in 1946, after his service in World War II. She attended Oakwood Baptist Church. June always had a smile on her face and a kind word for anyone who knew her. She was known for caring for her neighbors in need and loved animals, especially her cats. June retired from South Central Bell after 33 years of service as a telephone operator.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Taylor and Pearl Acuff; brother and sister-in-law, Syllus and Mildred Acuff; sister and brother-in-law, Opal and Sid Shelton; nephew, Lavon Acuff; and niece, Earlene Arnwine.
She is survived by husband, Bobby Vittetoe; son, Phil and wife Gail Vittetoe of Gray, TN; and son, Jeff and wife Becky Vittetoe of Mt. Juliet, TN; grandchildren, Chris (Julie) Vittetoe, Allen (Kim) Vittetoe, April (Brad) Olin, Rachel Vittetoe, Morgan (Tony) Moran, Stephanie and Brian Clifford; great-grandsons, Stephen Olin and Josiah Olin; niece, Sharon Acuff Whitson.

Family and friends will meet 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service and entombment with Chaplain Chris Hughes officiating.
