Watson, James "J.M."-- age 82, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at his home. He was of the Protestant faith. Retired from Southern Railroad after 40 years of service. Member of Masonic Temple Fountain City #557 F&AM.
Preceded in death by son, Harold Watson; parents, Jim and Maudie Watson; brothers, Erastus Mink, Buford Mink, Charles Watson; sisters, Edith Cardwell, Minnie Keck, Vinnie Russell, Mary Jane Miller.
Survived by wife, Maureen Watson of Knoxville; daughters, Brenda and husband Steve Henderson, Sheila Warren; son, Gilbert and wife Connie Watson; daughter-in-law, Janice Hall; grandchildren, Aaron Watson and wife Mandi, Jeremy Watson and wife Ronda, Holly Warren, Clint Warren and wife Sonya, Corey Henderson, all of Knoxville, and Lucas Henderson and wife Samantha of Louisville, KY; great-grandchildren, Isabel and Carlie Watson, Bailey and Barrett Watson, Karah and Noah Warren, Abby Warren, Kendall Whaley; sister, Dorothy Killion of New Tazewell, TN; special friends, Tommy Lambert, Christine Johnson. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, May 21 at Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. Dr. Charles Earl officiating. Pallbearers are grandsons: Aaron and Jeremy Watson, Corey and Lucas Henderson, Clint Warren, and Shane Williams. Honorary pallbearers: Noah Warren and Barrett Watson.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 20 at Stevens Mortuary with Dr. Charles Earl officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway.
