Lewis, James Franklin (Jim), age 88 of Knoxville died Monday September 12, 2016 at NHC Healthcare- Knoxville. He was a member of Emerald Avenue Methodist Church; Army veteran and served in the Korean Conflict serving as a radio operator. Jim also was the first and only male PTA council president. He retired from the Tennessee State Dept. of Revenue and also retired from Ideal Cement Company after 23 years of service.
Preceded in death by grandson Joseph Surber II and parents Andrew and Gertrude Lewis, four brothers and seven sisters.
Survivors: Wife, Nancy B. Lewis of Knoxville, daughter, Jennifer Hucklebee of Knoxville, daughter, Jamie Beth Lewis of Lexington, GA; son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey Franklin and Aida Lewis; grandchildren, Nancy and husband Cory Carmichael of Knoxville. Justin Brock and wife Autumn Lewis, and Isabel Christine Lewis, all of Morehead, KY; Great-grandson, Josiah David Carmichael of Knoxville, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery for a 11:00 a.m. graveside service and internment with Rev. Tom Seay and Steve Diggs officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Stevens Mortuary Oglewood Ave. at North Broadway
