Burke, James age 93, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center, St. Mary's. He was a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church and a retired salesman from Western Auto and Pete Moore Appliance Company. James was also a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army.

Preceded in death by parents, James and Emma Burke; sisters, Grace Price, Nell Burke, Maude Hollinsworth, Tress Hopson and Perna Burke.

Survivors: sister, Thelma Henderson of Lauderdale Lake, FL; 1 niece; several nephews.

Family and friends will meet 11:45 a.m. Monday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 12:00 p.m. graveside service and interment. Rev. John Holland officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lincoln Park Baptist Church, 830 Chicamauga Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917. Family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2011, at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
