Isabella Brown DeLaney age 89, of Lake Park, Florida and most recently from Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on March 24, 2017 after a prolonged illness.
Isabella was born in Falkirk, Scotland on November 8, 1927. Isabella finished her high school education in Scotland and shortly thereafter moved to the United States to begin a new life in 1956.
Isabella was married to Donald Jackson DeLaney on September 13, 1958; they were happily married for over 59 years.
Isabella met Jack at the Palm Beach Post Times where they both worked at the time. After marrying and raising their two sons she began a long career as the financial secretary at First Baptist Church of Lake Park, Florida. Isa as she was known to so many, loved her work at the church serving the pastors, staff and members of her church. More than anything in the world Isa found great joy in her 7 grandchildren! Pure joy was never so apparent as to observe her wonderful smile as she played with her grandkids or had the opportunity to talk about them. Isa also enjoyed reading her Bible daily, crossword puzzles and Atlanta Braves baseball.
Isabella is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Joanna Brown; as well as her oldest sister Nan.
Isabella is survived by her husband Donald Jackson DeLaney, her son Kevin DeLaney and his wife Jane and their children Jessica Marie, Jacob Austin, Jena Suzann and Jillian Isabella, her son Keith DeLaney and his wife Jennifer and their son's Tyler Kendall, Joshua Keith and Brian Robert.
The funeral will be held at 2:00pm on Friday April 7, 2017 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Dr. Alan Price will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:00pm just prior to the funeral service also at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. In addition there will also be a family only graveside service on Saturday April 8, 2017 at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Knoxville Alzheimer's Association 1545 Western Avenue, suite 110A, Knoxville, TN 37921.
