Bowers, Hazel Marie age 98, died peacefully at home on July 5, 2015. She was born, on May 11, 1917 in Harriman, TN
Preceded in death by her parents, James Roy and Savannah Giles; husband, Floyd H. Bowers and son, Boyd (Pete) Bowers; sisters, Peggy Price, Betty Davis and Jean Keiffer.
She is survived by son, and daughter- in- law, Evan and Caroline Bowers; granddaughter and husband, Julie and Lee Gann; grandson, Tim A. Bowers, all of Knoxville; grandson and wife, Chris and Bonnie Bowers; great grandchildren, Sean and Bailey Bowers of Roanoke VA; sister, Louise Moore; sister-in-law, Ruth Bowers, and several nieces and nephews.
Hazel was a member of Smithwood Baptist Church, where she sang in the Sanctuary Choir and was a member of the Mary Martha Sunday School class and Philathea Sunday School class.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Bowers was the manager/owner of Mutual Insurance Agency in Clinton, TN for over 40 years.
She was a member of Fontinalis, Knoxville Women's Chorus, Sweet Adelines and traveled with the Knoxville Friendship Force to England, Ireland and Germany.
Hazel was a member of Beaver Brook Country Club, an avid golfer winning numerous local and state awards including the Women's 18-hole championship at Beaver Brook, Fox Den, Link Hill and Cleveland County Ladies Golf.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Mortuary with funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Dr. Mark Gaskins officiating. Family and friends will meet Thursday at 10:45 am at Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. Serving the family, Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway.
