Carter, Emory Max (Jim)—age 80 of Knoxville, passed away Monday, November 14, 2011 at his home. Jim went home to be with his loving Father after a long battle of illness. Jim retired from Fountain City Presbyterian Church and Presbyterian Offices of East Tennessee. He was a member of The Church at Sterchi Hills.

Preceded in death by parents, George and O'Dell Carter.
Jim leaves behind a loving wife of 57 years, Dolores Carter of Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law Cindy and Bill Bradley, Karen and David Collins, Robin and Houston Hardy, all of Knoxville; sons, Jerry Carter, Wayne and Gail Carter of Knoxville; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorthy Holt-Talbott and Martha Carter of Greeneville; brothers, Bob and wife Nadine Carter of Springfield, Ohio, Riley Carter of Greeneville.
Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. Rev. Randy Singleton officiating. Pallbearers: Bill Bradley, Houston Hardy, David Collins, Randall Moore, Louis Hardy, Mark Mink.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursdays at Stevens Mortuary. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 8:00 p.m. in Stevens Chapel.
