Resided in Knoxville, TN


Carter, Edward "Ned" Madison, Sr. - passed away December 29, 2014 at NHC Knoxville.
He was a member of Magnolia Avenue United Methodist Church and a veteran of WWII. He was retired after 40 years from Tennessee Mill and Mine Supply Company.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Francis Carter; parents, Robert and Nell George Carter; brothers, R.E., Walter, and Bill Carter.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Lloyd McClendon of Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Susan Carter of Knoxville; granddaughter, Amy Carter Widner and husband Lance Widner; grandsons, Todd and Matt Carter, Kent Bowman; great-grandchildren, Preston Widner, Benjamin Widner, Alec Carter, Alex Bowman, and Kylie Bowman; sisters-in-law, Laverne Carter, Mary Jean Carter, Brenda Francis Owney and Jane Francis.
Family and friends will meet at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Mortuary to go in procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. for a Graveside Service and interment.
Eulogists will be Todd Carter and Matt Carter. Military Honors will be presented by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
