Turner, Clarence Wilburn (C.W.) Sr.--age 78 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord after a lingering illness. He was dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ. Member of Oakwood Baptist Church and Character Builders Sunday School Class. He served as a Deacon as well as in many other capacities. He was a rock to us who will always remember his life-long legacy of giving and meeting the needs of others. To know him truly was to love him. He touched many lives with his kindness and devotion. He enjoyed visits from special friends. Wanda Bell and Jean Easterday. He loved Tanzi Lake visits at the campground with his many friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Rev. Clarence R. and Lytha Turner; brother, Lynn Turner; brother-in-law, Ray Lawson.
Survived by wife, Burma Lawson Turner; sons, Walter Burnette Turner and wife Judy, Clarence W. Turner, Jr. and wife Terri, Todd Raymond Turner; grandchildren, Clarence W. Turner III, April Susan Crane, Carrie Beth Turner 7 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Loudermilk Sparks; brother, Eddie Turner and wife Melissa; sisters-in-law, Yana Goe and Sherrie Lawson; brothers-in-law, Gene Lawson and wife Pat and Rickey Lawson and wife Robin; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Wayne and Jane Branson.
Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Bookwalter Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday followed by a funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in Stevens Chapel with Dr. Charles Jenkins and Reverend Richard Nicley officiating.
