After a brief bout with heart and lung problems, Carl S. Taylor II, age 93, of Knoxville, TN bravely completed his earthly assignment and joined many loved ones in heaven on August 16, 2017. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army in the Amphibious Engineers, 533rd Engineer Boat & Shore Regiment. His World War II service included activities in the South Pacific, New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan.

Carl retired from Inland Steel Company in 1986 after 30 years of service, and moved to Knoxville where he was employed at Food City on Western Ave until 2011. He was preceded in death by Father, Carl S. Taylor; Mother, Cora Lee O’Neal Taylor; Brothers, James, Joe, and Bill Taylor; and Sister, Mary Taylor Rich.

Survivors; Sisters, Margaret Bayless (Brother-in-law, Don) of Knoxville, Lucille Shreve (Brother-in-law, Ken) of Powell; Brother, Bob Taylor (Sister-in-law, Mary Ann) of South Carolina, and Sister-in-law, Betty Taylor. Interment is planned for a family graveside service.
