BETTY FAYE (NANA) COLE HOLLOWAY, age 81, of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Parkwest Medical Center. She was a member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church were she sang in the church choir. Betty loved gospel music and sang in various gospel groups. She was a published poet and was retired from the State of Tennessee after 30 years of service. One of her greatest loves was her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by husband, Talmadge Holloway; parents, Everette and Rettie Cole; sister, Evelyn Gilbert; brothers, Wayne Cole and Carl S. Cole; infant sister, Wanda Cole.
Survivors: daughter, Tammy Holloway; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kim Holloway, both of Knoxville; grandchildren, Logan and Beth Holloway, Bradley Holloway, Lacy Branch and Sunny Heine; great-granddaughter, Lily Heine; sister, Hazel Jackson; brother, Clarence Cole; sisters, Kathryn Jenkins, Carolyn Brooks and Dottie Qualls; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Stevens Chapel followed by an 8:00 p.m. funeral service with Dr. J.C. Parrott and Rev. Randy Singleton officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 10:30 a.m. graveside service and interment. Pallbearers: Chris Holloway, Bradley Holloway, Logan Holloway, Robby Brooks, Nathan Cole and Perry Broyles. Honorary Pallbearers: Carl Jenkins, Mike Jenkins and Joe Cole.
