Miller, Betty Aslinger-age 89, of Knoxville, died Friday, April 25, 2014 at Trinity Hills of Knoxville. She was born February 25, 1925 in Sale Creek, Tennessee to John and Neita Marler Aslinger. She was a member of City View Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and study courses, sang in the choir, and served as Adult II Sunday School Director for many years. She obtained a Masters degree in Education from the University of Tennessee and taught 41 years, 34 years in Knox County.
Preceded in death by her mother and father; husband John; brothers, William and Bob Aslinger; sister, Francis Harbin.
Survivors, daughter, Johnna Berkley and husband Michael; brother, Rodney and sister-in-law, Charma Aslinger, sister-in-law, Louise Aslinger; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Monday at Stevens Chapel with Rev. Gene Hurley officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service and internment. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to City View Baptist Church's Van Ministry Fund. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Stevens Mortuary..
