Known in her later years as "Mamaw", a name given to her years ago by her first grandchild, Chip Jones, Berneze Wolfe was like a grandmother, mom, or sister to friends and loved ones all over the country. With a love for the Lord Jesus Christ and a desire to always invest in people's lives, Berneze was always more than just a friend to everyone who knew her.
From her early days raising a family on Woodbine Avenue with her husband Swan making her home the "gathering place" for her children and their friends, right up to recent days living in Farragut, Berneze has always eagerly shared her home and life with those she knew. With a long career behind her as the General Manager for two different Knoxville S & H Green Stamp stores in the 1960s and 70s, Berneze spent her retirement years investing her life into her family and church.
With 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and long lasting friendships from a full life well lived, Berneze spent her recent years praying for them all, participating in their life's events, following them through her mailed cards and notes and during the last 3 years on her Facebook account. She loved to cook big family meals, grow beautiful flowers, and give them freely to others. She was a loyal member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden and before that Bell Avenue Baptist Church.
