Albert Wesley Bean, Jr., 69, died February 16, 2016 after a long and steadfast battle with cancer. His son and caregiver John Wesley Bean was with him when he passed.
Al to those who knew him in adulthood, he was Butch to his family and longtime friends. A blunt and straightforward man, he was a retired auto body mechanic.
He was devoted to his family and enjoyed visiting with friends, working outdoors, listening to music and shooting pool.
A graduate of Holston High School, he spent much of his childhood at First United Methodist Church, where his grandparents, Ralph and Marion Bean, were faithful lifelong members.
He is preceded in death by his father, Albert W. Bean Sr. and brother John R. Bean, and, in addition to his son, is survived by his daughter, Misha Lowenstein, grandson Alex Lowenstein, mother, Mercedes O. Bean, siblings, Betty, Jeanette, Gary, David and Richard Bean, nieces and nephews Rachael Schafer, Joe Sbuttoni, Kevin Bean an Luci Bean.
There will be an informal gathering of friends and family to celebrate his life at a later date.
