Cameron, Addie Lou - age 97, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday May 2, 2013 at NHC of Knoxville.
Addie was a faithful member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church until declining health prevented her attendance. She was in the restaurant business with her late husband,
W. O. Cameron. In the 1960's and 1970's she owned and operated Shirley's Drive-In
in Rutledge, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cline and Etta Shirley of Rutledge; sisters, Chloe Simpson, Mona Higgs, Mabel Lyons, Mary Easley, and Mildred Bell; brothers, Howard Shirley, Earl Shirley, and Clifford Shirley; son, Terry Cameron; daughter, Constance Shirley Cameron; granddaughter, Julie Cameron Hourigan; sons-in-law, James Edward Carter, and Jerry Douglas Hundley.
Survivors: daughters, Patricia Hundley and Priscilla Carter both of Halls; grandchildren, Greg Cameron of Chattanooga, Jeff Carter, Randy Carter (Audrey), Danny Carter, Doug Hundley (Kristi), and Jenny Garrett (Todd); great-grandchildren, Kristin Carter, Nikki Carter, Trevor Garrett, Katie Grace Garrett, Preston Garrett, Addie Cate Hundley, Sydney Ann Carter, and Heather Hourigan; step great-grandchildren, Nicholas Candler, and Olivia Morell; special niece, Mary Jane Dalton of Rutledge, and many other special nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of NHC Knoxville for their care and compassion for Addie during her two year stay.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Lincoln Park Baptist Church Family Center at 830 Chicamauga Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Mortuary with funeral service to follow, Reverend John Holland officiating.
The family and friends will meet 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a graveside service and interment at 2:00 p.m. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway is serving the family of Mrs. Cameron.
